UFW 10.21.09

Today, David has been super busy with weird advertising emergencies and soldering irons. Too busy for UFW apparently. Ahem.
Luckily, the talented Tatum Shaw was on hand to get in on the ugly. We had a great time and laughed and laughed and laughed.
Far more fun than with SOME OTHER DEADBEAT photographers. Maybe a new record for fun had during a shoot.

Photographer: David Neevel Tatum Shaw | Studio Artist: Cari Vander Yacht

Go look at Tatum’s photos, They’re fantastic! Become his friend now before he gets too famous and he gets famous people problems.

it’s difficult for an artist to adopt the idiom of another artist. although well executed this ufw lacks excitement, the original flavor of ufw is not present. it is a fine picture, perhaps it is superior in some ways but neevel helped establish this form so only his contrubutions can be considered canonical.

This is exactly like when Janet stopped working with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Exactly.

Imposter! Everyone knows that Neevel’s knowledge of Janet Jackson is middling to limited at best.

the comments have already earned your approval since this is a moderated forum.

Only moderated for new posters, after that it’s a vicious free for all.

To address your first comment John, interesting point. I don’t particularly agree with you but then again I’m still in awe of your stunning use of the word “canonical”!

While I don’t doubt that Tatum added his own touch to the photo, David and I purposefully try to make every week different. So I guess the tone is bound to change a bit regardless. A girl can’t rely on her neck rolls every week.

    who selects the background?

    • cvydesign said, on October 23, 2009 at 5:05 pm

      This lady.

my comment was misinformed and i withdraw it. in my opinion the background image was below the standard set by previous ufw and i wrongly assumed tatum was responsible for the blunder. also as thom pointed out, it isn’t that ugly. it did come on wednesday however. i hope you’ll welcome these small criticisms in the context of the cardinal and genuine admiration we all have for the ufw, ufw factotum and all past/future guest photographers.

Totally John, I really appreciate the time and thought you put into your comment. I’m all for people being concerned about the quality control on ufw and I hope to hear more from you. Sometimes I wonder if I should put a cap on this series but hearing from people makes plunging on far more worthwhile!

Hi, I’ve had a really busy week, but I wanted to weigh in and say I (and several other very popular people) think this “John” chracter is a total chach. For reference: Chach.

I also want to express my gratitude to the English language and toast her continuing evolution. You just gettin’ started, baby.

i see where this is going, so i’ll be glad to decamp. i would just like to point out that your comment is a comment on my comment, and now my comment is a comment on yours and so on. The real loser? ufw. ufw does not exist to provide a means for you to reach people you have not yet insulted. i will now gladly allow you the ad hominem ‘last word’ in the interests of ufw and moving forward peacefully. i realize you are busy, but i expect a real zinger to appear here soon.

not to distract attention from the exciting and smoldering john/suzette conflict. but i thought i might provide (de)constructive criticism to support my claim that the current ufw episode is actually cleverly disguised beauty. the background chosen by “this lady” is dramatic and pleasingly saturated array of color. the closely matched eye and hair color smacks of natural beauty. skin glows. near complete absence of neck folds. i dunno, maybe i have become jaded to the true ugly but…. this writer waits apprehensively for tomorrow’s rendition of ufw, knowing that ugly is only skin deep.

Alright everyone. Could you guys wrap this up by tomorrow?

I guess I’m late on the discussion, however, I think that it is hard to hold someone to a high level of Ugly week to week, and furthermore I think that it is the varying of Ugly that adds dynamic to the whole of UFW. Then again, my opinion, may just be a bias projection of my own failings to be consistent about everything but failure.
